“Feeling gratitude, and not expressing it, is like wrapping a present and not giving it.” — William Arthur Ward
Upon reflection, I’m often embarrassed about just how much I (and others) take for granted living in this great country. While certainly a long way from perfect, and with countless problems and challenges still to be addressed, there is no other place I would rather call home.
I’m feeling deeply grateful on this Memorial Day weekend for so many things, and for so many people. Certainly, at the top of the list are the countless heroes who have paid the ultimate price defending freedom and democracy for so many decades and for those still serving today, both at home and abroad.
I am also grateful for everyone on the front lines of the C-19 battle; the EMT’s, nurses, doctors, and public servants everywhere. Also, the grocery store workers, truck drivers and all other essential workers over the last several months. May all those people, and their families, feel loved and appreciated not only on this Memorial Day… but always.
I hope your holiday weekend is/was safe, wonderful and perhaps, a tad reflective in your own meaningful way.
Be your best self this week! Have a great week!
